Hey, all! I just want to take a quick second for all you guys out there. As you may have heard before, my husband is a huge hunter. I mean, I hardly see the guy during bow season. So, learning about upcoming events, and the local country music festivals that are coming through your town, is something you should do; you will not only find out who is playing, but you are also going to be able to get discounts and lower prices on the tickets, if you do choose to purchase them in advance, rather than when you get to the festival.

There is music that you dance or sing along to when you’re in the car and then there is music that touches your soul and makes you want more. Country music is the type of music that tells a story and gives the listener something that they can relate to. There have been some amazing country singers over the years and 2012 was a year that many shone through, gaining more and more fans.

1. Hunter Hayes
This guy wasn’t all that popular until one of the sweetest songs ever created came out into the world from his lips through radio stations all over the country. The hit song I’m speaking of, which you probably already know, is “Wanted”. Born in 1991 in Louisiana, Hunter started his love of music at a very young age when his grandma gave him an accordion. This year, he won a Teen Choice Award and was nominated for awards at the CMT Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and the County Music Association Awards. All of which are for his voice and amazing songs.

2. Carrie Underwood
We all know who this astounding woman is! American Idol winner in the year 05′ is still breaking records and topping all of the music charts with her chill giving voice. Her album, Blown Away, was released earlier this year and is her best selling album yet. She announced her Blown Away tour earlier this year in May, in which included a show at Royal Albert All in London. This show sold out in less than 90 minute which just goes to show that her fans simply can’t get enough. Some of her hit songs in 2012 from her new album include: Good Girl, Blown Away, and See You Again.

3. Jason Aldean
This year in 2012, Jason Aldean has won 5 different awards and has been nominated for 12. Jason has been performing since high school and has not stopped for a moment since. He’s made 5 albums all of which have been extremely successful.  Aldean’s newest album, Night Train, contains “Take a Little Ride” and “The Only Way I Know” which is collaboration between Aldean, Eric Church and Luke Bryan.

4. Luke Bryan
Bryan has surely made a name for himself in recent years, especially 2012. He’s made three albums and his newest one Tailgates & Tanlines contains some of his best and most cherished songs by his fans. Some of these hits are “Drunk On You” which became the soundtrack of the summer for many people, especially young ladies. A few other songs are “Country Girl” and “I Don’t Want This Night to End”.

5. Lady Antebellum
You just cannot beat this band. Their music has some of the strongest lyrics and vocal power to date. They have had several number one hits on the billboards and have won many awards. They just recently won Song of the Year, beating out “Love The Way You Lie” by Rihanna and Eminem. Some of their newest songs are “Wanted You More” and “Owned the Night”.
